CRPF jawan, policeman injured in encounter with terrorists in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Two safety forces personnel have been injured in an encounter with terrorists within the Nawakadal space right here on Tuesday, police stated.
A police official stated the encounter started after security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following inputs concerning the presence of terrorists there.
A CRPP jawan and a Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel have been injured within the firing by terrorists, police stated.
The encounter started round 2 am and there was a lull in firing for about five hours after that. A recent contact was established with the militants round 8 am, they stated.
The official stated cellular web and cellular telephony providers, except on BSNL postpaid, have been snapped within the metropolis as a precautionary measure.
Earlier, Kashmir Zone Police, on its official Twitter handle, stated, "#Encounter has began at #Kanemazar #Nawakadal space of #Srinagar. JKP and CRPF are on the job. Further details shall comply with."

Police stated the encounter was on and further details are awaited.
