NEW DELHI: Congress chief Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's workplace on Tuesday termed the Uttar Pradesh authorities's 'demand of handing-over 1,000 buses' which Congress needs to ply for ferrying stranded migrant labourers, as not solely a waste of time and assets but in addition an inhumane act.
Sandeep Singh, personal secretary of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote to Awanish Awasthi, Uttar Pradesh additional chief secretary (house) during which he stated: "We acquired your letter by way of e mail late night time at 11:40 pm asking us to handover 1,000 buses together with required documents in Lucknow at 10 am."
"Migrant staff are stranded at Uttar Pradesh border, particularly Delhi-UP border. At a time when hundreds of them are strolling on roads and have gathered at Uttar Pradesh border for registration, sending 1,000 empty buses to Lucknow is just not only a waste of time and assets but in addition inhumane," Singh added.

Singh additional wrote: "Together with being inhuman, this strategy is grossly anti-poor in nature. It doesn't seem that the Uttar Pradesh authorities is committed to serving to the migrant staff."
"We are firm on our stand that we'll assist organize transport of the migrant staff to their houses. We request you to appoint nodal officers in order that we're capable of establish coordination with them and transport the migrant staff stranded on the Delhi-UP border to their houses," he added.
Earlier on Monday, the Uttar Pradesh authorities had agreed to Congress Common Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's request to run 1,000 buses for migrant laborers.
Further chief secretary (house) Avnish Awasthi wrote to the private secretary of Gandhi informing her in this regard and in addition sought particulars of the 1,000 buses. (ANI)
